Family Assessment Throughout this paper the social and dynamic aspect of the family will be assessed. It will look at the structural dynamics of the family, including internal, external and contextual structures, the development and functional assessment of the family and the strengths and problems within the family.
Family Description
This family has two children. The oldest child is a three-year-old little girl, BK. The other child is an eighteen-month old little boy, RK. The mother, AK who is thirty years old, is a stay-at-home mom and volleyball coach. She has four siblings that are all younger than her, one sister and three brothers. Her brother, the second oldest, is TB who is twenty-eight years old; next is her sister MM who is twenty-five

This is incorporated into their daily lives by a good diet, exercise, and an adequate amount of rest. They eat healthy and make sure they get adequate amounts of liquid daily; eating the recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables each day as well as drinking plenty of water. Sports are also another way that this family stays active and gets their exercise while having a good time. This is especially important to the parents because they are doing something they enjoy doing together while they participating in active sports. AK, a volleyball coach, is very active in her coaching style. Daily walks or visits to the park are also a ritual for this family. This provides exercise for their dog and allows the family to get out of the house and get some fresh air.
Family Assessment While assessing this family, we used the Calgary Family Assessment Model (CFAM).
This model consists of three major categories; structural, developmental and functional.
Each have sub categories, not all sub categories need to be used with each family
The current assessment should not be considered the truth about the family, but rather one perspective at a particular time.
Structural Dynamics of the Family
The CFAM modes involves asking the family members questions about each one of them to gain knowledge of the family’s structure, development, and functioning at a particular time in their lives (Wright & Leahey, 2013, p.53) This assessment will go through the strengths, challenges and connection of the family as individuals and as a
