In this situation, I gave a lot of support to the nursing staff in order to keep nursing care to all patients in the unit. Task behavior is the amount of orders and directions the leader provides to the worker to ensure a particular goal or task is completed (McEwen, 2014). In this situation, I talked with nursing staff and head nurse several times to ensure that all patients are receiving their treatment. This theory believes that relationship behavior and task behavior are related to maturity level of the worker (McEwen, 2014). The second theory that could be applied to my situation is Path-Goal Theory. This theory is focus on three expectations of the leader: provide the appropriate direction to the workers, assist workers to identify goals and provide motivation and reward (McEwen, 2014).
