2. Although all the stories are similar, they are unique in their own way whether it’s different time period or specific events. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the humanity is eradicated by the Gods because they are making so much noise and this story is written around 2150-2000 BCE. In the Bible, the humanity is eradicated because the Gods think that the wickedness of man is great on earth and it is written around 1440-1400 BCE. Last but not least, in the Quran, the God vanishes the humans because they are being ignorant and it is written around 800 CE. Another difference among the stories is how the God/Gods choose to speak with heroes. In Gilgamesh, the God, Ea visits him through a dream but in the Bible and the Quran, God speaks directly to him. In addition, when in the mountain, Noah releases only a dove and a raven at the end of the flood, but Gilgamesh, on the other hand, releases a dove, a raven, and a swallow. Lastly, the length of the flood differs in each story. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the flood lasts six days and six nights, whereas in the Bible the flood lasts for forty days and forty nights. 3. The God or the Gods are depicted slightly differently in each of the stories. The gods in the Epic of Gilgamesh, and the God in the Bible and the god in the Quran are portrayed as angry. The God or the gods are also shown as someone who wants the good in mankind to survive. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the gods are depicted largely as ruthless and destructive. For example, the God, Enlil derides Gilgamesh and decides not to give the access to the city anymore. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh, is left confused about everything that happened and he is left overwhelmed and exhausted by the end of the flood. In addition, Ea convinces Enlil that Gilgamesh escaped on his own, and then Enlil grants Gilgamesh the gift of immortality.
