In The Great Gatsby, Gatsby looks at the past often, thinking about his old memories. He keeps a hold to them as a reminder of his happiness. Just like Gatsby, I also like to keep a hold on significant memories. Even though they are from the past, it was a moment in time that made me happy and has no reason in being forgotten.
When in love, you are blindsided and do not want to forget about your significant other. Gatsby cannot keep Daisy off his mind. He is constantly thinking about her and thinking that if what they had in the past was true love, then she must still love him. When I am in a relationship with someone and we break up, I always feel as if that person still loves me back no matter what because it felt as if the relationship had true love. This being just like Gatsby felt.

Several of his characteristics are similar to mine. He is a clever character that fights for what he believes in. I always fight for what I believe in. Gatsby is a man that was only looking for his happiness, which is something I am always looking for.
