Technology is an amazing addition to our daily lives. Most people carry their phones around all day with them to check Instagram, Snapchat, or Facebook and be connected. “Shut Down Your Screen Week” is a good idea which can lead to less distractions but it can also be very inconvenient to others. Life has evolved into a screen consumed world, but it is not always a bad thing.

Some schools use technology such as iPads or computers to help kids understanding of content or to read and write. Social media is used to connect with other people from wherever in the world to talk and be with each other without being physically there. People use Google to get the information they want, without having to look it up in a book or ask a friend, which is efficient. It gathers information into a little device to help you in your everyday tasks. The Internet makes mankind think better, faster and stronger.

Social Media is the name for these communication services, and the word social is right in the name! Teachers work hard for students to learn and be understanding and happy. At Orinda Intermediate School, most classrooms have a Smartboard or projector which can be used for students to see things like assignments and papers. If the Smartboards weren’t at the school, then every student would have to get individual papers which would make the cost for papers go sky high.
