Should Society Take Care Of Honey Bees

Improved Essays
One can take a deep breath almost anymore and enjoy the smells around them, but what would happen if that was taken away? Once can go outside and see trees, flowers, and bushes surrounding them, but what if that was taken away? What would society do if there was no plants to make oxygen? How would we survive? Today, society takes bees for granted and so they started capturing them and keeping them to pollinate and make honey and instead of using pollen, beekeepers started using substitutes to feed the bees. Huang states, “Honey bees are unequivocally the most important insect pollinator for humankind” (2012). If society does not take care of its bees then we will not have a future and the best way to do that is through pollen. There are types of amino acids that a bee can only digest them as free amino acids or they would have to be digested from proteins which is found in pollen (Huang, 2012). A piece of pollen contains 20%-25% of protein (Huang, 2012). This satisfies the colonies …show more content…
When a beekeeper transports bees from place to another, he/she does not realize that the bees are not getting enough pollen to use to feed the adults , and the bees are not used to the different habitat so the bees will struggle which will cause a loss in bees (Huang, 2012). Without the preservation of high protein and organic pollen, the bees will not survive for much longer. Today, we see pesticides as a good thing because it keeps bugs away, but it also makes the bees suffer. Keeping bees in one habitat that is away from toxins, will help ensure the life and longevity of the bees. In doing so, this will also help keep the future of human life preserved. Without pollen, there are no bees. Without bees, there is no pollination. Without pollination, there is no plants. Without plants, there is no

We treat bees like machines instead of animals. In 1984 a new parasite, the Tracheal mite began to diminish both wild and commercial honeybees in the U.S. In 1987, American beekeepers experienced some of the heaviest losses on record from the Varroa mite. Because of CCD it has been noted that losses as high as eighty percent are occurring overnight (Rich and Morley). Even with all of these things decreasing the population, it is an easy fix. We as humans need to live in neutrality with the bees. Some cities will not allow bees to be kept within 500 feet from any homes and even limit the number of colonies a keeper can have.…

If bees became extinct most of our food will no longer exist and if it did, it wouldn't be very affordable.…
