There should be a debate among the candidates and the students should be able to vote, and not just ages eighteen and up but middle school kid’s voices should also be heard. People may say “they’re too young, what would they know” and the saying goes on and on. When you really look at children these day are smarter than we think, technology is advancing and so are their brains. You have children who are accepted in these programs, because how smart they are and the information that their brains absorb. Basically we should stop with the negative comments of our youth, because they have feeling also, and they recognize the everyday comments by many adults. Their voices should be heard at the debate and not only theirs, but the parents also. We need to know about who we allow to run our school and sit on the board. We should not allow our candidates to run without experience with children, and it shouldn’t matter if they have children or their spouse was a teacher. When all is said and done it comes down to the candidates and how much they know what schools need. If we limit the number then every position will have at least two people to debate over it. There wouldn’t be all candidates running for head of the board. The problem of today is everyone want to be the team and not on the team, well it’s time to put all that “I want to be the boss” attitude aside and work together as a team, be proud to be on the team as a helper even if you’re not the boss. Think about the decisions that are made for the schools benefit, and not just because it sounds good to your ears. Everything that our elected candidates does affect us as a whole from the teacher, students, staff, and parents. This is why we need candidates who has experience teaching or running a school so they know much about the in and out of the schools. There could be four positions opened and twelve people ran which this could type of situation could cause a problem of some sort. If all of the candidates would run in this election how many candidates would run for each opened positions? This is why there should be a limit on how many people can run for each position, and some candidates won’t have a debate opponent to go against because there aren’t many candidates running for that certain position.
