In “Superman and Me”, Sherman Alexie writes about his struggle to get the education he desired. This piece brings to life that reading can open doors and pave the way for a brighter future for you and those around you regardless of the situation.

'Superman and Me' by Sherman Alexie is an inspiring bibliography about Sherman living on an Indian reservation in Washington state. He taught himself how to read using a Superman comic as a young boy. I admired that he chose a different life of educational success as apposed to most of the Indian children who did not want to learn at school. When he became a writer and went back to the Indian reservations to teach how to read and write.
