Shadowing Experience
I arrived at Radiation Therapy Department at 8:15 AM and Bicklein introduced me to the staff. Moreover, Bicklein showed me the department and explained the uses of each machine. Then, I shadowed Sally until 2:15 PM. I believed that this shadowing experience was a positive experience because I observed educated people who have a good hand on experience and they were willing to answer my questions.
The place was divided into many rooms: physicist office, Staff room, simulator, linear accelerator, and cyberknife room. First, I participated with Sally in the stimulation, which is very important before the treatment starting. Sally showed me how to introduce herself to the patient and explain the process of the treatment. I like working with all of them because they explained very well and they answered every question I would ask them.
During this shadowing experience, I did not find to disliking anything about this experience. Everything was educational, professional and interesting. It was a great learning experience that increased my eagerness to complete my study in Radiation Therapy in the United States. I really appreciate your program for giving me this opportunity to observe the radiation therapy center, and how it works in the United States, which gave me a lot of information about what to expect during the clinical practice in the graduate study.
If I had more time, I would have liked to see how they treat the patient by cyberknife, also, I would have liked to witness them doing
