One such example, in my experience in a startup is using a mobile and desktop compatible chat application. This not only helped us quickly reply to concerns regardless of location but also avoided formal emails which I think consume more time. There were different groups for meetings, production issues, general issues and so on. This allowed quick, easy and organized interaction over mobile devices as well. I personally felt that teammates (even if working from home or remote locations) were very accessibly and approachable and removed the sense of formality to a certain extent. In my opinion somehow this helps build a more stronger team spirit and sense of collaboration which is critical to the project success from a project management
