Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Analysis

The first time I viewed the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, it stayed in my thoughts for at least a week. As it may come off quite comical and seemingly too quirky, the story incases a message grasping the theme of undying love. The main character, Scott, first comes to terms with his superficial relationship with his adorable, yet naive girlfriend, Knives Chao. His passion for music and his alternative rock band then leads him to the other protagonist, Ramona, the heartthrob. From the moment he notices her, he believes with all his heart that she is his soulmate. However, to be with the character Ramona, one has to defeat her seven evil exes. Scott Pilgrim had no idea what he was up against, yet he did not care what it took; he cared about her. Following, the movie then switches between a comical action standpoint to a sappy romance between each fight Scott encountered. As the villains become harder to defeat, our protagonist does not lose hope through his determination. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World told a message within its story, self actualization needs to happen before relationships can blossom. Also, what you work for is what you appreciate the most. Though there certainly are times where taking the easy route is a non-regrettable action, rewards are only truly beneficial when one does something in order to achieve them. This movie teaches the audience how determination is essential to winning any and every battle, and how possible it is to succeed them all. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World not only demonstrated crucial themes that are relevant to many lives today, but told it in a manner where one can watch it without realization, but with a little work, the reward became the message
