“School psychologists can make a positive, lasting difference in children’s lives” (National). The career I have decide to research is school psychologist. The reason I have decide to pursue research in this career is because I find this type of work very interesting. The idea of working in a school has always made me very curious, but as I grew older I decide teaching was not for me. As I continued to take assessments to find a career I stumbled across school psychology. I fell in love with the idea of working one on one with a child. The idea of helping children with everyday life on a mental level.

With this information I would probably not be working in Oklahoma. Comparing a recent college graduate to a person with five year it would be about the same with the factor of the degree and state. “The national outlook for a school psychologist is 19.7 % increase”. (OK Career). It is really reassuring when there is such an increase in school psychologist. “As a school psychologist I would be working in clinical, school, and counseling psychologists in private practice frequently have their own offices and set their own hours” (OK Career). Before starting research on this paper I wasn’t really sure on what I would do. I have always had ideas but nothing ever stuck with me. I always grew out of it or it wasn’t for me. As I continued to research for this paper I grew more and more in love with it. As a school psychologist's I would be working one on one with students with behavior, education, and mental issue in the student's life. With a job I want to be able to support my family and myself if something ever where to go wrong, I believe being a school psychologist will allow me to do that. With this job I will get to know my patients, know them on a personal level. Work with them and better themselves and myself. Working with kids has always been a passion of mine. I have always strived to help others, especially kids. And as I get older I believe that's what I want my job to be involved in with.
