Schizophrenia Nature Vs Nurture

The nature versus nurture debate is one that has been going on for a while now. It is a philosophical as well as a scientific debate on whether human personality, the way we act, and our culture occur due to nature or nurture. To give it some structure, the nature aspect resembles the genetic part of humans particularly relating to hormones and such that affect our behavior. The nurture part of this debate is defined as the environment and experiences one has that affects their behavior. My topic will be concerning schizophrenia, this is defined by google as “a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.” In short, this is a brain disorder in which people will lose control of their own mind. Much of this disorder is still unknown and much of it is theory but we will work with what we have.

It is difficult to determine the main cause for schizophrenia as many people who have it tend to not seek help and it often gets misdiagnosed. Early symptoms include being moody, rebellious, and anti-social which makes it difficult to determine whether younger people such as teenagers have it since these are similarities they both share. Schizophrenia can also be catalyzed through the use of drugs as some if not many impair your judgement and cause irregularities within your brain.
