I am glad that I gave this salsa a chance because now Garden Fresh Salsa is all I will buy. Garden Fresh Salsa began as an operation ran out of the back of a small family restaurant in Michigan and today is one of the largest growing salsa manufacturers. A variety of interesting flavors are available in mild, medium, and hot. Some of the popular selections include Black Bean and Corn, Garlic and Green Olive, Wild Mild, Sweet Onion, and my personal favorite Artichoke Garlic. What I like about these salsas is that you can taste the individual ingredients in each blend. The tomatoes are actually red and juicy. There is no thick sauce or puree used in these products. All the ingredients are fresh and free of artificial flavorings. Without the artificial flavorings and preservatives your don't have to feel guilty about eating this salsa. First, check your tools to be sure they are in good condition. Now is the time to replace those that may have broken or may have cracked handles. Make sure you have a good pair of gloves ready for use. My old ones got laid down and now are a home to little cute inch worms. I don't have the heart to evict them. This is also the time to start maintenance in the garden. The little gnome is asking for a bath. His buddies, a little girl and boy on a bench kissing are begging for the warmer weather. The roses are crying out, "Prune me, Prune me." Roses should be pruned in late February to early March. Prune branches back leaving four to six healthy canes not one like I did which got mowed down. Prune at a 45 degree angle to force new growth to an outer direction. After pruning, use a good rose fertilizer. Roses need gourmet food once in while too. The time is now to plant those trees you have ordered that are dormant, have covered roots, are bare-root or are container grown trees. Plant these no deeper than they were planted at the nursery. Their trunks are allergic to dirt. Water well and mulch. Prune all other trees in late March and hope it doesn't freeze again. Apply a good dormant spray being careful that it dries before a late
