RITTMAN — Ray Arcuri was sworn in as the city’s fifth police chief by Mayor Bill Robertson during Monday’s council meeting. In my time in interviewing a probation officer, I have gotten in contact with Darin Kessler. Mr. Kessler, currently works with the Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department and has the position of a Community Supervision Officer. For this paper I have decided to address awareness of veterans who returned back from the combat, and are facing several obstacles upon the transition back in a civilian life. When we think about veterans, the first picture that comes in mind is a strong, self-confident, and fearless male who is willing to scarify his life and body for his country. However, the image of a brave soldier is not always as pretty as we see on YouTube videos when the family gets surprised by returned veteran. During the middle of my second year in JROTC, I earned a promotion to the rank of platoon leader. Although excited to begin, I had to face the hard challenge of speaking in front of people, establishing my own authority, and battling my own indecisiveness.
