The Humane Animal Treatment Society Offers a New Volunteer Program Encouraging a Healthy Lifestyle for People and Pets.

Running Buddies is the Humane Animal Treatment Society’s newest volunteer-based program. The program encourages volunteers to take dogs from the shelter to exercise together, creating a healthier lifestyle for both humans and animals in the community. Volunteers can come to the shelter for a tour of the facility and a short training shift. After that, they are get to take a dog to their favorite park, trail or other exercise spot to get moving as a team. The Running Buddies program is a great opportunity for the dogs in the shelter to get fresh air, exercise and socialize. Even an hour walk together can make a difference
