Rugrats Search For Reptar Game Analysis

One game that ties these elements together is Rugrats: Search for Reptar is a PlayStation game that was released in 1998.The game is based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon Rugrats, which aired from 1991 until 2004. The game follows the main character of the cartoon, Tommy Pickles, who has lost his Reptar puzzle (IMDb). The last time I recall playing the game was twelve years ago at the age of nine. In order to get a good understanding of the game again I watched a walkthrough of someone else playing the game. The semantics of the title of the game did not mean much, but as soon as I heard the diegetic sound of the theme song, it called my attention because immediately all my childhood memories of the game came back. This game does a nice …show more content…
The game is filled with obstacles and at times the characters disagree about what to do next, but in order to pass each level they must work and compromise together. Throughout the game there is anger, sadness, frustration, happiness, basically every emotion a player can possibly be in a game. The game also comes with a story line where the player connects and learns more about the game. The values in the game such as basic equality for all characters and character development is shown throughout the game, so in this aspect, it is representational to real life. Angelica is the oldest of the Rugrats so she constantly feels inferior to the others, and the game is constantly showing the player that this mindset is not correct by isolating her every time she becomes bossy. Overall the game is quite short in terms of length, but still a great game to play, especially if you loved Rugrats. It incorporates most of the material discussed in class including the elements and values that were provided in the reading, which represent our values in society. Learning how to understand the patterns and trends make completing the game easier and these are real world skills that can be applied to a player’s life in the future. It seems cheesy, but something as simple as a health bar makes a player care about a character and makes the player become so invested in that character’s journey. It even included elements that

With relatable characters, The Peanuts comic strip touches the heart of all ages. Schulz drew the comic strip true to his own life. People could identify with the “voices” and “hearts” of the characters. Since all of the characters were based off of someone in Schulz’s life, it makes the characters personality and problems more realistic. Although the Peanuts Gang takes the form of children, in reality, they all have problems adults face.…

The Royal Tenunbaum is about a dysfunctional family that revolves around Royal (Gene Hackman), who failed as a husband for Etheline (Anjelica Huston), and failed as a father to his three children: Chas (Ben Stiller), Richie (Luke Wilson), and his step-daughter Margot (Gweneth Paltrow). Royal is trying to reconnect with his family after learning from his informant and servant to the family, Pagoda (Kumar Pallana), that Henry Sherman (Danny Glover), Etheline’s accountant, proposed to his estranged wife. Anderson’s visual creativity was emphasized in The Royal Tenenbaums mise en scene. By incorporating deliberate color palettes, dominant contrast, character’s costumes, and settings to enhance his story: evoke an emotion, give insight to the characters, and present a pleasing picture for the audience is very impressive.…

In “Happy Endings” by Margaret Atwood reveals six different scenarios about two main characters named John and Mary. She begins with scenario A to show a version of a perfect fairytale story, “Section A is the most typical, uncomplicated, most unrealistic scenario that results in a happy ending.” By the end of the short story the readers can notice that the conflicts are different but the endings stay the same. The author stereotypes the two main characters by gender, causes the reader to focus on the plot and includes symbolism and irony through the short story. When people think of fairytales they imagine a princess and prince charming but that is not the case here.…

True West by Sam Shepard shows us a snippet of a family’s dynamic in an interesting way. There is no clear statement that the two brothers, Lee-the eldest and Austin-the younger, are jealous of each other but Shepard is able to convey this through their interactions. An interesting way Shepard shows this is through Austin, the more stable and successful brother of the two with a career goal and a family of his own, getting easily lost in Lee’s stories of his life in the dessert. There is an interesting role reversal near the middle end of the play where Lee tries to take on the job of a screen writer and Austin takes up the life of a thief for the night. This enforces the idea that the brother are not happy with the lives that they have and…

To answer that question, I will consider what anime is, and what video games are.…
