As Regan Wardensky explains to us, “The purpose behind the music, produced by blues and rock and roll, is designed from the same perspective. The goal of both these genres of music is to create music with raw emotion. The blues emotion-driven style of music inspired the same pattern to be followed by rock and roll.” With people against this new music, some believed that this new genre wouldnt last long comparing it to a phase. But as Bill Haley had the first rock and roll hit the world witnessed on the top of the “Pop” charts with the song ‘Rock around the Clock,’ people realize that the genre was here to stay (Mellor). As the article ‘America Rocks and Rolls’ explains that with adults being appauled by this new version of music and not allowing their children to listen to it, sparked teens to rebel against their parents music. This article also tells us, “In general, the older generation loathed rock and roll. Appalled by the new styles of dance the movement evoked, churches proclaimed it Satan's music.” Middle and upper class viewed rock as a tasteless genre, since it had risen from the lower class.
