According to the recommendation from IOM report, all nurses should practices to the fullest of their education and training, which promotes the number of working nurses in health care setting. It also provides an opportunity to all nurses to utilize their knowledge and skills. Encouraging nurses to achieve higher level of education and training promotes the excellence of academic area, improve the quality of care and provides more opportunities to the nurses to practice in the area of their interest. In addition, full partnership with physicians and other health care professionals for remodeling a health care system will promote the teamwork and discover many solutions to deal with health care challenges. Kentucky will focus on the advanced nursing education through improved education system, which promotes the quality of nursing practices, delivers evidenced-based high quality care to the patients (Future of nursing, n. d). Nurses are encouraged to engage in leadership positions by providing various opportunities to attain the leadership skills so that they can explore the health care challenges and engage in policy discussion to solve these challenges. Kentucky faces a shortage of primary care physicians and has greatest impact of outdated legislation, which prevents nurses to practice fully based on their knowledge and expertise. In order to minimize the barrier to practice, Kentucky Action Coalition has developed a strategic partnership to utilize the experience of states with advanced regulations. To ensure the high quality patient centered care, collaboration with stakeholders, physicians and other healthcare professionals has been developed.
