Robert Williams Report

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Robert Williams. A kind and intelligent student, Robert is making the most of his high school career. Robert has exhibited these characteristics both in and outside of the classroom. I have been impressed with his dedication to academics and community. There is definitely more than meets the eye with Robert. An exemplary student with an apparent concern for others, he has distinguished himself among his peers. Not only does Robert set high academic standards for himself, but also high moral standards. He is confident in his decisions and is unyielding to the peer pressure that high school students face. The ability to reach such high standards and goals can most definitely be attributed to Robert’s motivation, dedication and consistent effort. Robert is an individual who shows purpose in every aspect of his life. I find it difficult to express how genuinely superior Robert is on a personal level. He is truly one of the most respectful and kindest …show more content…
Robert’s athletic talent shine on the court and the field. Robert is a true team player, which has and will continue to be an important part of his continued successes. He utilizes his ability not only to help his team, but for no personal gain, without hesitation he looks beyond self to help others. As an assistant coach to middle school students throughout his high school career and running a baseball clinic for little league players his senior year, Robert not only enjoys sharing his talents, but also feels a responsibility to help others and fortunate to be able to do so. I am certain his love of basketball and baseball have played an important role in the development of the person he is today. Robert recognizes athletics has provided him with not only the most fun in his life, but also with valuable life lessons about respect, trust, hope and

In the story, True Legend, by Mike Lupica, the main character, Drew Robinson, is a basketball prodigy. He eats, drinks, breathes, and sleeps basketball. I can easily relate him to myself, being a basketball fanatic. If I could choose to have Drew as my friend in real life, I would choose no, only because Drew is so focused on basketball, he cannot keep up with his school work. I am like the opposite, because I care very much about school and my grades, but I do love basketball like him WHat I do admire about Drew is that he loves and cares about his family.…

The aforementioned training regime was a necessary price to pay if I ever hoped to improve and outperform peers, and I stayed dedicated to it from the beginning. Because of this, I grew accustomed to the ring of the victory bell and the satisfying validation that came from it. However, after many years of relentless training and competition, what has taught me most is not the split-second touch of victory, but the long stretch of perpetual failure. At the age of sixteen my athletic improvement became halted without explanation in a sport in which the sole purpose is to outperform the athlete you had been in the race before.…
