This quote resonates with me because, I have experienced what kind words can do. Kind words can bring courage, strength and bravery to someone at their lowest point. Saying words like, “You can do it, I believe in you and you are awesome”, help to build a person up and will stick with them forever. Hearing words of encouragement like this have kept me here at DePauw and have kept me going when I wanted to quit.…

Being reluctant to improvise could be a strength for me by my patients knowing that I will stick to the books and I would not do or try anything I was not comfortable with doing. Having the need to have constant acknowledgment is a strength in itself. I will always be trying harder and looking for that recognition from my superiors. Concerning the fact that I neglect my own needs, I will never have my doctors question my priorities because they will already know that I will be doing everything I possibly can. Having weaknesses isn’t always a negative in my case because this will only push me to be better and work…

Pat Riley, an American professional basketball executive, once stated that “If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges.” What he meant when saying this, was that people will surpass any challenge they are faced with and preserve to face any other obstacle. Similar to another athlete, Ralph Marston views the obstacles one faces is valid when the people involved remain focused on the primary goal in order to overcome it; however, when people allow themselves to be consumed by fear, they lose sight of what to do. To overcome an obstacle, people must focus on the obstacles they are faced with in order to not succumb to being part of the…

People connect the word strength with being physically strong. Strength is know as the capacity to lift weights, or cause a knock out with one single blow. It comes from muscle-building and winning fights. That is why I’ve never considered myself to be strong, or able to show any strength at all. Being proven wrong, I have found that strength is much more than being physically fit; strength is showing courage when something terrifies you, its being able to defend your beliefs, or never giving up when things get hard.…

Strength is not something a person can define easily. I know true strength is not something that’s physical. It’s not who can punch the hardest or who can lift the most weights; it's a little bit more complicated than that. True strength is overcoming obstacles, being there for someone emotionally and physically, and being strong for other people’s well-being. Personal obstacles are the hardest things a person can overcome.…

The reason this is ironic is because, to some this might seem like an obvious part of fitness when it comes to trying to improve a person’s body overall, but what I quickly discover through research is that strength training is often overlooked.…
