But it was known as we call today as Theatre. “In the 6th century BC a priest of Dionysus, by the name of Thespis, introduces a new element which can validly be seen as the birth of theatre.” (History of Theatre). What we know as acting is in fact originated in ancient Greece. As the countless years proceeded, the form of acting we know is from Theatre, it is simply just another branch of it. Even the common ceremonies that are help for acting, like the Oscars, were also done back in the time of ancient Greece. “According to a Greek chronicle of the 3rd century BC, Thespis is also the first winner of a theatrical award.” (History of Theatre). From then, even towards now, acting and theatre has been going on for so long and it has not stopped and it never will. The Greek has created the scene of theatre, acting, and they made sure that it was going to remain a business of eternity.
How was Robert Downey Jr. introduced into the acting business? None other by his own father, Robert Downey Sr. Downey Jr. began acting under his father who was a filmmaker at the time of his childhood. “Downey made his film debut playing a puppy in his father's film, Pound (1970)”. But once again, Robert Downey Jr. has proven otherwise that he can prove them all wrong and do what he is best at. “The new undisputed king of Hollywood is a walking, talking multi-billion-dollar business.” (Scott). Turning his life around from prison and drugs, to becoming as successful as he is now is truly inspiring. The problems he had to go through makes mine look like tiny issues, so I have no excuse for anything from holding me back to becoming as successful as I want to be. Not only that, but he continues to strive and work hard as he already has everything that he possibly needs. “Today, that same seemingly hopeless addict is now an example of how dedication to sober living can transform a life.” (Hitting Rock Bottom).
