Who’s Who: Robert De Niro
Robert De Niro is an academy award winner, producer, and director. He is best known for his roles in the movies, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and The Godfather Part II. He is not only limited to just acting but voice acting as well, he played a shark in the movie, Shark Tale, in 2004. De Niro is a talented Italian American actor who plays a variety of characters in some of our favorite movies. Most people already know who this man is, and people everywhere love him.
De Niro’s full, legal name is Robert Anthony De Niro Jr. He was born on August 17, 1943 in Greenwich Village, New York City. Robert is son of Virginia Admiral, a well known painter, and Robert De Niro Sr., a sculptor, painter, and poet. He was the only child of the later divorced couple, Robert was only two years old when their divorce occurred in 1945. He wanted, instead, to pursue an acting career and briefly studied at the Actor’s Studio in New York City. So far, Robert has been in three long term relationships. In 1976, he married actress, Diahnne Abbott, and had two children with her but they soon divorced in 1988, he then dated Toukie Smith in 1995, the pair had twins and later split. Lastly, he married Grace Hightower in 1997, the couple had two children and they remain married today. In total, De Niro has six kids; Dreana, Raphael, Aaron, Julian, Elliot, and Helen. Although Robert has never stated his political views, he has donated over $70,000 to the democratic party so it is assumed that he is a democrat.
