Muhammad, which would later become the prophet to Islam. Muhammad was born in Mecca, a
city pledged with moral ills that trouble Muhammad. While out meditating in a cave, he was
contacted by the angel Gabriel, and was told that he was the messenger of God. He soon started
to spread his teachings, but was unsuccessful in the beginning. He was forced to make a
pilgrimage later called Hijra to the city of Yathrib due to the threat of murder. Only then was
Muhammad successful in teaching his ideals to the people, and started to gain a cult following.
