The Rise and Fall of the Towers The twin towers other words known as building one and two of the seven building world trade center in New York. Building one and two were built in 1972. The construction of the North tower beginning in August of 1968, and construction of the South Tower starting in January 1969. Standing at 1368 feet being made out of steel a they were designed to be the tallest buildings in the world at the time. The World Trade Center was designed with the the concept of having and using 10 million square feet of office space. The buildings were really tall for their time and the core of the buildings was specially designed to keep them up and keep them functional. What happened on Tuesday September 11 2001? The official story of that day is that at 7:59 AM “American Airlines Flight 11 takes off from Boston’s Logan International Airport for Los Angeles.” Then at 8:46 AM the Federal Aviation Administration’s Boston control center a call saying that flight 11 from American airlines has been hijacked.Then Not even a minute later, Hijackers crash American Airlines Flight 11 into floors 94 to 98 of 1 World Trade Center, the North Tower. However while all of this is going on, on the same day at 8:14 AM a “United Airlines Flight 175 takes off from Boston’s Logan International Airport for Los Angeles.”Then at 9:03 AM less than a half an hour after the first hijacking. “Hijackers crash United Airlines Flight 175 into floors 78 to 84 of 2 World Trade Center, the South Tower.” Shortly after this both of the towers fell, first the south tower which fail 56 minutes after it was struck. Then At 10:28 AM the roof of the north tower started to come down along with the rest of the tower. What actually brought these two towers down? The twin towers were designed with hey steel core and frame that keep the structural integrity of the buildings. Many could argue that the fire from the airliners fuel was just too much for the building to handle and that the fire
