Richard Connell’s The Most Dangerous Game is a classic story about good vs. evil, hunter vs. hunted, etc. This story has a very suspenseful tone. Connell always keeps the reader on his toes. The set of main characters is very simple; a protagonist and an antagonist. Connell also has an extremely good ability to use irony and foreshadowing. All of these factors make Most Dangerous Game one of Connell’s best stories. Connell begins the story with the protagonist, Sanger Rainsford, talking to his friend Whitney about hunting in the Amazon. Later on in the beginning the author immediately sucker punches the reader when Rainsford falls off of the yacht he was on. Before the reader is even remotely ready, Connell gets the reader’s heart racing
