Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) is a disease that affects the back of the eyes, it usually occurs and starts in children aged as young as 5 have shown symptoms of RP. It starts out only affecting a slight proportion of the eye usually everything is consumed the disease apart from the centre of the eye there is no current treatment for this disease so therefore RP is a disease which tends to lead to complete blindness in young adults.
Symptoms of RP tend to be a loss in vision at night (nyctalopia) also a loss of eyesight colour as Rods and Cones are affected, the acuity remains semi-intact however photophobia tends to affect individuals later on in life. when an individual has RP they would most likely
