The farmers bride is very similar to Curley's wife as we don't hear her perspective Curley’s wife represents the epitome of prejudice against women in the novel, Steinbeck does this to reflect the true ideas of society in America in the 1930’s because her identity is seen as powerlessness on the ranch, just like Crooks. Throughout the novel as similar to Crooks, Curley’s Wife is not named. This highlights her lack of identity on the ranch and how she is viewed as the possessions of her spouse. Also the fact that she is 'Curely's wife' objectifies her, and implies that her identity and her importance are formed due to her marriage to Curley. As a result of her insecurities due to the male dominated society on the ranch.
