Response to Commentary 1 Anthropology: Laura, I like the definition of anthropology that you used. It summed up anthropology in a nice and simple way. In the course book, Culture, and in Professor Wiedman’s presentation, both describe that an anthropologist can go into one of the four subdisciplines or into applied anthropology. There are cultural, archeology, linguistic, and biological anthropologists. These four subdisciplines study different areas of cultures and humankind. Then there are applied anthropologists who identify, assess, and solve human problems by using the theories, knowledge, and methods of the four subdisciplines.
