Respect— the key to personal growth Relationships surround us, and we often take for granted those relationships—it’s human nature. But, we still have control of that relationship, how we feed it, how we make it grow, and how we care for it. One of the key elements for growing a relationship is respect, mutually. Any relationship is like a tree, and respect is the sunlight and water upon it. It is our choice if we want to water the plant, or let it wither away. What is respect? Respect is a key element to relationships, but what really is respect? Every household, culture, religion, and individual has their own definition of respect. According to Merriam Webster, a credible dictionary source, upon society there is a general idea of respect: “high or special regard.” Why does society see this as special? It is because we don’t recognize respect as easy as we recognize disrespect. We take respect for granted in our day-to-day …show more content…
Compassion to Chris is like a mirror, a mirror of humanity, this can apply for respect as well. We should recognize those who make up humanity, the moment we value these people our choices will suddenly change. Respect is found everywhere, and it should be valued upon everyone.
