Abstract
This research paper will be about psychologist Abraham Maslow. The paper will contain his theory which is the hierarchy of needs. The hierarchy of needs contains five tiers of the needs people have:1) psychological 2) safety and security 3) belonging and being loved 4) esteem needs 4) self-actualization. The basis of Maslow’s theory is that for a person to reach fulfillment in life (self-actualization) has to complete each tier in sequence. Maslow’s motivation of this theory is out of pure curiosity, the paper will also include the limitations of Maslow’s theory, and how some of his theory does play in todays world.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs The psychologists that I will be discussing is Abraham Maslow. Abraham Maslow was Jewish. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York on April 1, 1908. Maslow believed that certain needs a person had was more important than others, and that is how the pyramid came about. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs was proposed in 1943. It was written in his paper called “A Theory of Motivation”. Maslow organized the hierarchy in a pyramid and there are five tiers. They are also split up into two groups (McLeod, S.
