This was a definite challenge, because my brothers are both Division I lacrosse players. Growing up, I could be found bundled up on a cold Sunday morning in March or sweating on a sweltering Saturday in July on the sidelines of their games. I was able to witness the powerful energy that Kevin and Peter brought to each game. They embodied natural athletic ability, hard work and determination.…

First, let’s talk about Abby Payne from Lake Travis HS, her team philosophy is Pride, Passion, and Discipline. I fully agree with her philosophy and seeing that’s how my high school team was run and how I plan on running my team one day. I also somewhat with her practice schedule 3 days a week at 7:30am and 2 at 7:00am with 2 days of tutoring for the team to see teachers. I agree and disagree with this because I feel like if you’re going to allow your team 2 practices at 7:30am the team should be almost ready to perform for the football game that week. I also agree with her worst problem with her team being that that parents are either too involved or not involved enough.…

Most people tend to correlate mistakes with falling short and the incapability to achieve success on a level that offers satisfaction. However, Thomas rightfully and sufficiently sheds mistakes under the same positively-connotative words such as “lucky” and “hope.”…

My freshman year of high school I went out for softball. I had loved softball when I was younger and had always been the star of the team. I wasn’t expecting to come in and be a hot shot, but I also wasn’t expecting to be the bottom man of the totem pole. We had a large team and the coaches knew that to get everyone playing time they would need to have some of us suit up for the first game and save others for a different game that would be easier. I was thrilled when coach said my name in the list of those suiting up for the first game regardless it was for the junior varsity team.…
