Feminism is basically equally for all people of both genders. In the past, men have always been superior to women, and in some occasions the stereotype lives on. There are more CEOs named John than there are women CEOs period. Feminism fights for equal rights politically and socially for all genders. Any gender should be socially accepted and all rights should be the same. Many people think that feminists are for women and against men, but that is not the case. Some men are seen as pigs and savage, and a lot of feminists represent that, but that is not the true concept. Feminists are meant to support equality, not just women. Being narrow minded and ignoring others inputs behind your own is violent. It can be related to not allowing someone to take and give their side and opinion. Basically, listen to the whole story before deciding where you stand, instead of based on just prejudices. Examples of ignorance include many instances. The first example is men being superior to women. Men were ignorant in ignoring the skill and ability of women outside of what they already did, now women are equal to men and humanity has developed much more positively. Another example of ignorance was when blacks were inferior to whites. Just like in the case of men and women, blacks were the slaves that worked for the whites. Whites did not even take a second look at what the blacks had to offer since they were so ignorant, and even today the racism somewhat lives on. Another example of ignorance was when women were looked down upon when they wanted to take birth control. Women wanted to make their own life choices and not have consequences, but others could have cared less. Both men and women looked down the birth terminating drug, yet the ignorance was soon overlooked because women needed more freedom and equality for their own decisions. Minorities need to be better represented. I agree with the platform in that lots of support was given, and it definitely raised a lot of awareness in a society that is white dominated. All different races deserve equal opportunities as the whites. People think that spanish class or french class is sexist or racist, but a required course is english. The only thing outrageous that could be added on is American class. Two examples of intersectionality include, minorities have always had to fight for their equality, whites never had. The other example is that whites have always been known for inheritances, while minorities never had anything like that.
