Before, all the colonists were under control of Britain. After the French and Indian war the British were way under debt. So, they created acts to tax the colonist so they could pay for the war. Soon these acts started getting out of hand and the colonists started to rebel. After a while the Americans wanted Independence so then began the revolutionary war. There were many battles in the war and both sides won many battles. In the end the Americans won the war and gained Independance. This was important because it lead up to us being our own country. If this war didn’t happen then we would still be under control of Britain.
I have the Civil War at number two. The arguing over slavery was one of the main causes of the Civil War. People in the south believed the blacks weren’t people and should be used like barn animals. They knew the only way they could solve this, is war. This was very hard for America. Over time they were fighting back and forth. In the end over 600,000 people died.
