Narrative Essay On Faith And Beliefs

Improved Essays
From the time I was born, I was raised in a Christian home, we went to church every Sunday morning. We all ate dinner at and table together as a family and prayed before we ate. I did not fully understand the concept of my faith when I was a child. I knew there was a heaven where God was, and then there was hell where the devil resided. The good people went to heaven when they died and the bad when to hell. As I got older I understood my faith and beliefs a little more, and I did my best to be a good and honest person. My faith and beliefs did get shaken when I got older; my parents started fighting more and more every day. I sat in my room and prayed to go to help my parent find peace, but I did not get prayer answered the way I wanted it …show more content…

However, my senior year of high school my best friend killed himself, which then brought back the depression. After a couple of years my mom was realized from prison, and we were getting along. We had some minor issues when she was released, but nothing to bad then my grandpa who was like a father to me got cancer and died few months …show more content…
For example there was a day where my car wasn’t working, I had tennis match, and I had a dinner date had to get to. Instead of getting upset and crying about all the bad luck I sat and thought what is the first thing I need to solve and slowly work my way down to solve all my problems. I think being a logical thinker is one of my top strengths, because I don’t get all emotional about things I am able to solve my problem and then if I want to get emotional about it then I can. My second strength is my will to help people. I know a lot about fitness, and instead of keeping my knowledge and experience to myself, I give advice to anyone that ask or that I see could use some help. I do not know everything and I am not afraid to ask question so that I can pass on the knowledge that I have gained from someone else or gained from experience. In this world I would truly love to see everyone exercising and eating

If we help people in need, feed old and homeless people, not curse on others, have positive attitude, it is meaningful to say the person is going to end up in heaven. The heaven and hell lies in our imaginary thoughts and even the physical appearance of god is invisible. This helps to make an assumption that the story of the god, heaven and hell have been passed down by our ancestors. In this process, some parts were lost while others were added. The faith I have toward my god is the most important part.…

Southeastern University Entrance Essay 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 says, "Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me, But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. " Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." Growing up, I never questioned the existence of God because church was all I knew. My older sister and I spent countless hours with my grandmother at church helping in any way that we knew how and we never missed a service; in those services I heard testimonies of so many men and women who knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that no one other than God moved in a miraculous way in their lives and I just knew he had to be real. Not until I…

My strongest ranking strength is empathy, which is the ability to “sense the emotions of those around you (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006, p. 46). I have used empathy a lot throughout my life by listening to others and by imagining myself in their situation. Over the years, I 've had coworkers confide in me problematic details about their lives. Being able to relate to what they were going through or how they were feeling, created some strong, lasting, friendships.…

At first I thought of myself as the least empathetic person on this Earth, but through the last few weeks, I have noticed that I put people before me. I can see this as a strength, but mostly as a weakness. I feel that putting people before yourself could lead to self-neglect. As I began to develop into a teenager I began questioning my faith in God. I did not want to be confirmed into the church when I was fourteen, but my parents told me that I should at least try going to confirmation classes. I attended every confirmation class for months and at the end of confirmation classes I decided not to get confirmed. I did not think that I was ready for that kind of commitment and I was unsure about my own philosophical belief system. I think that it really hurt my parents feelings when I decided not to, but I am glad that they let me decide for myself about my own…

The theological integration of faith and learning is one of the essential elements to the educational theory and practice of a Christian Higher Education institution. A discussion of these essential elements helps to set the backdrop for an explanation of my approach to the integration of faith and teaching, learning, and research in regards to Christian Higher Education, especially to Christian Ministry and Leadership discipline. I believe that the elements that are essential to the educational theory and practice of a Christian university are the development of students’ Christian worldview in which Christ-centered education is systematically rooted, the theological integration of faith and learning, and the preparation of students’ vocation…
