It has instilled in a passion for advocating for all students, especially the underrepresented. It also inspired me to venture my leadership in different organizations, including the African Student Association and Residence Life. I have also actively participated in the Trio Student Support services. These roles have given me a platform to advocate for the needs of students to be met. Furthermore, seeing my mentees succeed has inspired me to continue serving as a mentor as I find great joy seeing my fellow students succeed. I am also accountable for planning events three times a month, enforcing rules, watching over the building, and updating residents on important information. I use my Resident Assistant platform to advocate for non-traditional student concerns and educate students about the resources provided at Xavier. As a non-traditional student, through my programs, I strive to educate my residents about the resources provided to non-traditional students such as Trio Student Support, Office of Success, and resources from Financial Aid.
