To join this hard working community you must first fill out the application on the company’s website, meet a manager for an interview, pass the background check, and then go through the training process. As a crew member our main audiences are the managers on the shift. The purpose of writing in this community varies: from writing down an unsatisfied customer’s information on the receipt of an order that has been refunded, putting the correct expiration dates on the produce, taking inventory on the stock, and texting when there’s a crew meeting or when you may be late. When writing it’s not necessary to be formal, or grammatically correct due to the fact it’s probably a list, numbers of stock, or a customer’s information. This community consists of various websites and mobile apps and the goal is to connect friends and family all around the world. The most popular media currently used by majority of the public is Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. To join you have to create an account by signing up with basic personal information, and creating a profile with a username and password. The audience members within this community are usually friends and family trying to keep up with how you’re doing. Some of the purposes of writing may include: updating your status commenting on your friend’s posts, or writing a direct message to someone’s inbox. Topics that may be discussed may include: family, upcoming events, recent events, achievements, everyday life, and how someone may be feeling. When writing in this community members may use slang like “what’s good? “, or abbreviations such as “ Lol” which means laughing out loud. Very rarely you will see someone speaking formally on social media in fact, almost always members speak informally, ungrammatically correct, and in incomplete sentences. There are no guidelines except to not harass or cyber bully by posting things that may offend another
