This Future Me Portfolio is a combination of information that I have created and collected throughout the semester. It is comprised of several parts including: Keirsey Temperament Type Indicator, VARK Learning Styles Inventory, Multiple Intelligence Inventory, Holland Code, Degree Works Academic Evaluation formerly the Program of Study, and a three term or more academic course plan. Within the context of this Perimeter Orientation course, I have honed communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills all while defining my personal identity, exploring the college community, and formulating academic and career goals for success. Marvette Colbert. She took me into her office and we quickly started the academic advisement plan. Eager and inquisitive in general about my standing and GPA, Dr. Colbert informed me that I am in my second-year term, I am a sophomore and that my current academic standing is good. Regarding my Health Science Professional - Associate Degree I was pleased and impressed to learn that I am only short a few credit hours of obtaining my degree. My advisement plan only included the Spring Term 2017. The few outstanding classes needed for registration include: CHEM 1152 lecture, and both BIOL 2310 Lecture and Lab. After a conversation about my passions and career goals Dr. Colbert understood my interest in the Dental Hygiene Program. Enthusiastically, she advised my next step to submit my application for the Dental Hygiene Program as soon as possible. Noticing that a few of my classes were repeated and higher grades were achieved, she advised that I submit repeat and replace for those specific classes. I was informed this process would boost up my GPA, and only increase my chances of acceptance in the competitive Dental Hygiene Program. In order to be competitive for consideration, it is strongly encouraged that I have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The Academic Advisement evaluation is an essential component in my education and it gives me the chance to learn about the curriculum for my degree program and how to plan for the next semester.
