Reasons To Blame In Romeo And Juliet

Who can we Blame? With stories like Romeo and Juliet we see a pair of star-crossed lovers who go over their heads into a love they are not at all prepared for. They saw the idea of a fairy-tale love story and took the opportunity to try it knowing it wasn't right. People all around them would judge them for the mistake that they know Romeo and Juliet are making. We may not ever fully know the true cause of their deaths but we have reasons to be able to believe it was their own careless fault. From the beginning of the story we had known the tragedy of these young lovers deaths but didn't know the tragic heart wrenching story behind it. Romeo had belonged to the Montague family. He thought he had found his true love right away, by the name of Rosline. Going to a party hoping to find his thought to be love Rosline he ended up finding Juliet who was a Capulet, his family's worst enemy. His careless actions and moving on to a new lover shows us our first example of how unaware they are of their actions. “My only love, sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! In order to make herself assured that Romeo really does love her. And if he does, then why wouldn’t he just marry her right now? “Dost thou love me? I know thou wilt say ‘ay’: and I will take thy word” “O gentle Romeo, if thou dost love, pronounce it faithfully.” (2, 2, 90) Juliet thinks that the only way to get away from their problems is to become married as quick as they are able too, then flee Verona to escape the mess they have now created. She doesn’t know how to escape the mess she has created with Romeo and thinks that if he confesses his love for her and makes it official it will then be easier to run
