America Asians are immigrants and American-born citizens whose families and ancestors migrated to the United States from Asian countries which are either found in Eastern Asia, Southeast Asia, or South Asia example China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and the rest of other Asian countries. Pacific Islanders or Oceania American are Americans who have ethnic ancestry among the indigenous people of Oceania which mostly comprises of the Native Hawaiian and other immigrants who originated either from Fiji, Guam or the Northern Mariana and other Pacific Island countries. These people migrated to America while fleeing from certain societal factors such as war and famine. They later became part of the United States population making around 5 percent of the American population. Despite their tremendous contribution to the US society, they are still inaccurately portrayed in the American society as violent people or terrorists. Pacific Islanders and Asian Americans are often viewed as foreigners who make them vulnerable to a lot of problems. This misconception comes because many Asian men mostly from India and Pakistan are commonly seen in most American streets driving cabs and limousines. The given stereotype has created an image which portrays most Asian Americans as chauffeurs who don’t own cars and as people who can’t do other jobs other than driving (Weber, et al., 63). Asian Americans are stereotyped regarding the way they speak. This is because some of them are unable to speak fluent English due to their pronunciation problems. However, it is important to note that they were colonized by the British who use English as their first language (Tran, 484). The Asian Americans have been seen as incapable of performing well in other sports other than martial arts which is widely exhibited in most of their movies. The portrayal of their skills in martial arts which are their traditional game has also made them be viewed as dangerous people for their warlike nature in the American society and thus making it difficult for them to associate freely with other Americans. American Asians are sexually portrayed to be weak and unattractive. Many Asian American are barely dated or marry because of the misconception that they are unattractive and weak sexually. Asian American men are portrayed to be misogynists meaning they are so intensive and disrespectful to women. They are also portrayed to be male chauvinists while Asian women are portrayed as sexually aggressive. Some people call them gold diggers since they are opportunistic and depicted to be cunning making them be described as prostitutes. On the other hand, Pacific Islanders are portrayed as foreigners who don’t have a self of belonging in the US. This
