I’m sure there are people committing crimes and voicing racial slurs motivated by prejudices, biases and directed toward Arab-Americans; I am glad not to see or hear much in this area; consequently, some states have set laws embellishing strict penalties; to safeguard Arab-American citizens. I believe people still demonstrate racial profiling of most races based on their appearance alone, but there tend to be a substantial act of discriminating for the Arab-Americans if they identify a robust ethnic faith and not white. According to Parrillo (2014), “some assume both strong ethnic and white identities, while others report a strong white identity, yet distance themselves from the pan-ethnic Arab American label” (assimilation, p.301).
