Racial Profiling Controversy

The fact that Donald trump not only made it through the primaries but was elected to be president just really shows how racists this country still. I was watching SNL and Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock were in a sketch about election night and trumps victory and it really made me think. The white people in the sketch were so convinced that Hilary had it in the bag, but Chris and Dave knew what was going to happen because they understood that America is a racist country so racist people are going to elect the someone like Trump over anyone else. This sketch was a perfect example of how white people in this country are completely blinded by their privilege they see racists things almost every day, but because it doesn’t affect them it’s almost as if it doesn’t happen. They are supposed to protect and serve when they are only protecting whites and shooting everyone else. I understand that police put their lives on the line and I know not every cop is racist but how can these problems continue to happen in 2016 if that’s the case. I can’t help but compare being a cop to being in the armed forces, both take an oath to serve and protect this country but the military has rules in place on how to handle being life threatening situations, the rules of engagement, and the police seem more like shoot first ask questions later when they should both be the
