One of the feminist theories that can be applied to the authors of the articles/stories is the Queer Theory. This theory states that it does not matter where a person is in terms of their sex, gender behaviour or a combination there of, society dictates what the norm is, which is often heterosexual. In addition, the Queer theory states that sexual identities and what is accepted as social norms - and I would say also social stratification in this theory - rule and any divergent activity or beliefs are viewed as disruptive to the social order and stratification of that society and its accepted culture.
