Before I started to build my Pyro board I did research on how they worked why they worked and why the flames reacted the why they did. Then I read about what other people had tried when building their Pyro boards to see what worked and what did not work for them. I did this to save time and money by making the same mistakes other people had already made. I learned from their mistakes. I also got ideas about different ways I could build my Pyro board and what materials I would need.
When I began to build my Pyro board I thought I could save time by using an old medicine cabinet as it was the right dimensions I was planning to use for my Pyro board and would only need a top added to it. After I removed the mirror and shelfs I sanded off all the paint. At this time I noticed there were a lot of holes I would need to patch to make the box airtight. I got a high temperature epoxy to …show more content…
Then I took a piece of paper that was the same size as the top I was making for the Pyro board and measured out the exact spacing for each hole I would need to drill in the top, creating a templet. I then cut the top out of a sheet of 22 gauge steel leaving 1 inch on each side so I could fold it down over the sides of the box. At this point I taped my templet to the top and began to drill my holes. Making the templet took a while and I had to restart a few times but in the long run it saved me a lot of time and made sure each hole was placed precisely where it should
