Momentarily, the Hispanic, are being the predominant causes of the contemporary immigration to the U.S., these immigrants originate from it's less prosperity-stable neighbouring continent, South-America. These causes make people from South-America more eager to cross the border. Pull and push factors play a big role in this phenomenon. Pull factors are, having more liberty granted, immense farmlands with extensive choices for territorial modification, and in addition, not many religious and cultural restrictions are being made forcefully.

As more cultures, religion and ethnics coexist within a nation, it can sometimes affect immigrants, creating mistrust and resentment against the Americans that can sharpen social divisions and potentially contribute to conflicts. Because of this, legal and illegal residents can deviate from the American society, as they feel more attractive to their 'own kind'. Another factors causing social exclusion is admission rules that were enacted being disapproved. Until 1965, a maximum number of immigrants was acceded. Yet, 80% of the immigrants neglected this and immigrated illegally to the U.S. to join their families.
