should be careful not to resist them in the effort to stay number one. This, as we can see with the competition between China and the U.S. in Africa, can cause confrontation. In this current situation we should also look up to Great Britain during the rise of America. Instead of resisting us as we grew and grew as a nation, they actually adapted and accommodated (Post American World). Because Britain did not resist us, there weren’t any wars or confrontation between us and both countries kept a lot of power and influence. Britain continued to have something called soft power. This type of power means that Britain was able to make an impact and influence the rest of the world without using military or force. They were able to achieve their objectives was through diplomacy. I think that America should also strive to have this type of power instead of intervening and trying to include ourselves in every other countries
