Propaganda Techniques For Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton is one of two candidates of the Democratic Party to be nominated as the 45th President of the United States of America, and if she can win the election on November 8th, 2016, will go down in history as the first female President of the United States. Her major opponent, the Republican “outsider” candidate also known as business mogul Donald J. Trump, has claimed many times that Hillary Clinton “is unfit” or “incapable” of holding the office of the President of the United States because of all the scandals and controversies that she is and was involved in, during her time as Secretary of State, Senator of New York, and First Lady of the United States of America. As a return to Donald Trump’s claims during one debate, Hillary …show more content…
According to Glendale Community College, the card-stacking propaganda technique is when you “manipulate information to make a product appear better than it is, often by unfair comparison or omitting facts”. In this case, the “product” would be Hillary Clinton, as she runs for the office of the President. The card-stacking propaganda was both a positive and a negative resource for Clinton’s campaign team to use. The card-stacking propaganda technique was a benefit for Hillary Clinton because it elaborated on what beneficial things she has done for, not only the United States, but also the rest of the world. Osama Bin Laden was an international warlord who became a Wanted man in the United States, and Hillary Clinton was able to assist the military in, as Madame Secretary Clinton would put it, “bringing him to justice”. However, using the card-stacking propaganda technique also has a backlash effect. Because of Donald Trump’s little experience with politics, it is difficult for Donald Trump to compare himself with Hillary Clinton, and the positive things she has done for the United States, relaying back to the “unfair comparison” portion of this propaganda technique. Overall, the card-stacking propaganda technique was more beneficial than it was detrimental, because of specifically, the issues that are affecting more and more Americans every day, and how Hillary Clinton has done, at least something to change the effect on American

First Lady of the United States, United States Senator, and Secretary of State are some of the titles that have been attached to Mrs. Clinton over the years. However, after her defeat in the 2008 Democratic Party primary to political neophyte and eventual President, Barack Obama many believed that the curtain had come down on her political career. Nevertheless, Hillary Clinton with such tenacity told us to never count her out. Before the election had started, there were calls from all around the Democratic Party’s establishment for her to run, which was tantamount to an anointment as the true successor of President Barack Obama. However, there were those of us who felt that Clinton represented the past, the politics of triangulation, and the character of a chameleon -- someone who would say whatever to achieve her poorly masked goal of sitting in the Oval Office as President of the United States.…

Logos is an appeal to logic or reason in order to prove a point which essentially serves as a way of persuading an audience. In the third 2016 Presidential Debate, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump strategically appealed to logos in effective ways to really grasp their audience’s attention as well as their future votes for this upcoming election in November. In the opening segment of the first 10 minute discussion, Chris Wallace asked Hillary why she felt that the Supreme Court was wrong about the second amendment on the right to bear arms. Clinton shared her opinion and later stated ".... we have thirty three thousand people a year who die from guns.…

Under the veneer of praising Donald Trump in the title of her essay – “The rhetorical brilliance of Trump the demagogue” (Mercieca, 2015), Jennifer Mercieca explores Trump’s rhetorical strategy to rally the American public into supporting him in spite of his offensive rhetoric. Using Donald Trump’s December 7 Statement on Preventing Muslim Immigration (Trump, 2015) as an example, Mercieca puts forth this essay to explain Trump’s “profound and persistent appeal” (Mercieca, 2015) through demagoguery in his speeches. Mercieca's primary exposition on how Trump’s ideas are framed and entrenched through rhetorical devices has led to his ability to successful craft a political narrative which positions himself as a hero saving “a nation in crisis”…

The presidential race will soon be closing, and with this deadline fast approaching for the candidates, they are making any advertisement they feel they must in order to bolster support for their campaign. This includes slander campaigning, which is an advertisement that attacks the opposing candidates’ policies and credibility. When these advertisements are well produced, they are some of the most effective campaigning tools that are available to the candidate. This is because “We pay more attention to negative information. It’s more salient, it scares us, and we’re more likely to remember it” (Phillips).…

I prepared to be president, and I think that's a good thing.” Hillary Clinton has had multiple years of political experience, and that is both an advantage and disadvantage for her. Her opponent made it a disadvantage and made her appear very unlikeable when he said, “All of the things that she's talking about could have been taken care of during the last ten years, let’s see, while she had great power. But they weren't taken care of and if she ever wins this race, they won’t be taken care of.” In conclusion, Hillary Clinton can be seen as likable and…

She was the Democratic candidate that supported ideals such as equality to minorities, pro-choice, and preventing climate change problems (“Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton on the Issues”). To the Republicans, she was seen as a liar, a criminal, untrustworthy, and even a murderer for her acts against the Benghazi troops and the email scandal. Clinton was caught using her private email to send and receive government based emails, almost 31,000 at that (Zurcher). In an essay from the course text, “Propaganda: How Not to Be Bamboozled” the author describes how it works, “The plain-folks appeal is at work when candidates go around shaking hands with factory workers, kissing babies in supermarkets, and sampling pasta with Italians, fried chicken with Southerners, bagels and blintzes with Jews” (Cross). In the U.S., votes on propositions, polls, and even the election of the President are influenced by campaigns put on by candidates and even average citizens. A campaign is an organized course of action to achieve a particular goal (Oxford, 2015). All throughout history, propaganda has been adopted as a way to manipulate the opinions of masses. Propaganda is chiefly derogatory information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view (Oxford, 2015). In more recent years, propaganda has been used to sway voters to vote for a specific person or view.…

Argumentative Essay – Presidential Election This 2016 presidential election is by far the most important race in American history. Although every election year is categorized as the most important election, it is usually a tool to get more people out to vote. However, this year is the first year that the white house is an open seat where “there is no incumbent running for President in this election” ("Why 2016 May Actually Be the Most Important Election of Our Lifetime"). This means that there will be a new acting president and vice-president this January.…
