Strategically Aligned?
The project came into existence through bureaucratic channels. It is the vision of the CAO and the Mayor of Kingston to make it a Smart City. Further, due to the emergence of Smart City Challenge conducted by infrastucture Canada this ideology gained momentum in Kingston. This project is stratergically aligned to solve the major problems of the City namely population retention and strengthening of underperforming sectors. Objective(s)
The primary objective the prpgram is to improve the quality of life in Kingston through methodoligical models that promotes best practices. Further, the secondary objectives are developing e-solutions for local problems that are academically proven, redesign and redefine public departments using lean methodology, developing indicators that measures efficiency of the implemented models, creating an urban settlement that takes into account various electronic information collection sensors to supply data used to manage assets and resources effectively.developing infrastructure that caters to human life cycle and promote greater strategic collaboration between municipalities in eastern ontario.
