Case plans are based on the risk and needs assessments, although there are many different principles that need to be takin into consideration, it is essential for when a probation officer develops a case plan. Therapy allows for an individual to focus on learning coping skills for their natural environment which they will be transferred into helping them react to stress in a socially accepted manner. These therapy sessions help approach the risk, needs, and responsivity of every individuals need to determine what programs will best benefit them in their rehabilitation. Cognitive behavioral therapy also addresses dynamic risk factors referred to as criminological needs used to predict recidivism of adult offenders. Certain techniques are provided to individuals to alter negative thoughts that are transferred into anti-social behaviors. Another popular approach are programs that are based on social learning theory, it's effective in addressing obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, antisocial conduct and other behavioral problems that attribute to these offenders to commit crimes. Most of these behaviors often lead to probationers to commit crimes, addressing these certain behaviors is a must to help these troubled individuals complete their sentence of probation and be successful. There is a program known as rehab and rehabilitation, which includes about 35 sessions.
