Service providers must always be respectful and mindful of everyone’s beliefs and values. Throughout the treatment of the patient care providers must be thoughtful and respectful towards the principles and values of each individual, although they may not agree with them.
I have a strong belief that people are judged upon the way they represent themselves through clothes and actions. For example; if a female is wearing tight, revealing clothing which portrays a sexual message, then it is likely for her to get an unwanted reaction from other genders. However, if a female is wearing clothes in a modest manner then she might not get as much unwanted attention. Multi-disciplinary/interagency approach
It is crucial for different agencies to work in partnership, especially as they are dealing with vulnerable individuals. This approach avoids any problems from occurring; as groups of people create a support plan to allow the service user to get the sustenance which they require. When different professionals work together, they can all bring something different to the table as they exchange ideas and find the best support for the individual.
It is crucial to always involve one another in decision making. All of the professionals will have to come together to discuss how they can work together to help the service user.
For example, Jim had many professionals who worked alongside him. Firstly, he had his primary carers, his parents. His parents could identify what the issue was; they understood that they couldn’t help him alone and that they needed a professional support. His parents decided to do a third party referral and booked an appointment with his GP. Jim informed the GP alongside of his parents who are his primary carers what issues he was experiencing.
